Our Boats

We are the proud owners of two wooden pilot gigs, and one plastic gig.

As part of the Club in a Box initiative by the CPGA, we were lent Tribute for one year (March 2017-March 2018).

Additionally, a group of our members loved gig rowing so much that they built our newest boat, Hurricane.

Fury. Our first gig. Fury moved from the land of Cornwall in August 2016 and has found a great new home in London.

Rhos. We purchased Rhos from Roseland Gig Club in January 2017.

‘Ansom. Our first plastic gig, launched on the 19th August 2017. Great for training and has even ventured as far as Scotland – as shown above rowing over Loch Ness.

Tribute, (March 2017-March 2018) as part of Club in a Box

Hurricane. Built and launched in London and is the first built by Patrick Bird, son of Ralph Bird, on the 25th of November 2017.

This was a huge occasion and milestone for so many involved, including the CPGA and all clubs.  Since becoming an associate of the CPGA in January 2016 we quickly grew to over 100 members and have opened up CPG rowing to many people, from the South West and further afield – and once they give it a go, they just can’t stop.
Tormentor. Purchased Praa Sands Club in Cornwall (where she was known as ‘Poll Gwragh’) in early 2018, with some restoration work carried out and launch in November 2018.
