It’s that time of year where the boats are out of action, and in our new clubhouse for their annual spruce up before heading to the World Championship on the Isles of Scilly in May.
This year is particularly special for a few different reasons:
- It’s the first time we’ve had our own clubhouse to undertake maintenance in after moving into Arch Two, Richmond Bridge in December last year.
- This is the last time that so many of our boats will be going out to the Isles of Scilly for the World Championships. Last year the organisers announced that in 2020, clubs will only be able to enter one crew per category unless they have achieved a top 12 place the year before.
- This is going to be the largest event to date in Isles of Scilly with over 180 boats taking part in the racing.
It’s always great to see the boats when they are cleaned up and ready for the World Championships. We’d like to thank our members who have volunteered so much time to get the boats ready.
